On October 15, 2026, the Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C. (OHESDC) hosted the DC Startup Week Private Reception: Global Startup Gateway at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. The event aimed to foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem, while creating opportunities for Thai startups to connect with U.S. business partners and potential sources of funding. The reception also served as a prelude to DC Startup & Tech Week 2026, held from October 19-23, 2026, in Washington, D.C. and the DMV.

During the event, three Thai startups MUU, LOCOL Company, and LIVWELL delivered one-minute pitches to introduce their ideas, innovations, products, and services to participants. The presentations provided opportunities for the startups to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, and members of the innovation community. The event also featured a panel discussion on strategies for entering the U.S. market, accessing funding, and expanding businesses internationally. The discussion was moderated by Guc Ozenci, Managing Director of Founder Institute DC, and featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natcha Thawesaengskulthai of Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII), Chulalongkorn University; Mahir Iskender of KNDR Ventures; Sean Makulowich of IdeaFire; and Gökhan Erdoğdu of CloudOffix.

The event highlighted OHESDC’s role in promoting innovation cooperation between Thailand and the United States. It also underscored the importance of supporting Thai entrepreneurs in building strategic partnerships, accessing business and investment opportunities, and expanding into international markets, thereby creating pathways for growth and strengthening the global competitiveness of Thai startups.
