Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) and Thai delegations attended meetings with U.S. organizations



From May 6th to 10th, 2024, Mr. Thitidej Tularak, Minister-Counsellor of the Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Royal Thai Embassy, Washington D.C., United States, along with a delegation from Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) led by Assoc. Prof. Pathamawadi Pochanukul, Ph. D., President of TSRI, and the accompanying delegation led by Suphakit Sirilak, M.D., Executive Director of Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), Prof. M.L. Chakri Kitiyakorn, M.D., Deputy Dean of Innovation and Cooperation, Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University, Prof. Vorasak Shotelersuk, M.D., Associate Dean of Research Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Mrs. Narisa Mantharngkul, Program Director of Advanced Medical Devices Technology & Medical Robotics, Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), and Asst. Prof. Sirinan Kulchat, Ph. D., Deputy Director of Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B), attended meetings with various organizations in the United States.

These included U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Department of State, World Bank, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the National Science Foundation (NSF), in order to exchange knowledge and discuss cooperation aimed at advancing science, research, innovation, public health, and other areas of Thailand. Additionally, they participated in the annual General Assembly 2024 of the Global Young Academy (GYA) under the theme "Transformative and Inclusive Science for a Sustainable Future." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongphan Kaewtathip, D.Eng., Vice president of TSRI, was also a speaker in Plenary Panel I: "Bridging the Gap and Paving the Way for Future Leaders.".
