Thai Youth Win Top Prizes at ISEF 2025

From May 13–15, 2025, Mr. Thitidet Tularak, Minister Counselor (Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation), the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C. (OHESDC), participated as a judge in the Engineering Technology: Statics & Dynamics category at the 75th Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF 2025), held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was joined by Prof. Nongnuch Inpanbutr, the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Regeneron ISEF is the world’s largest international science competition for high school students, attracting nearly 1,700 participants from over 60 countries each year. In 2025, Thailand was represented by 14 teams (35 students), selected through a collaboration between the Science Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage, the National Science Museum (NSM), and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).
A team from Prince Royal's College in Chiang Mai Province won first place in the Technology Enhances the Arts category for their project, “eiBraille: Systematic Tactile Literacy With AI” Their platform leverages artificial intelligence to make Braille education more accessible and promote equality for visually impaired learners worldwide. The Thai delegation achieved significant success, earning a total of 11 awards: 8 Grand Awards and 3 Special Awards, amounting to $18,400 (approximately 620,000 THB). This accomplishment brought great pride to Thailand and highlighted the talent and innovation of Thai youth on the global stage.
Additionally, on May 16, 2025, OHESDC in collaboration with Ohio State University faculty staff and students led by Prof. Nongnuch Inpanbutr, organized the event “Opportunity and Paths to Study in the US.” This session provided Thai high school students with insights into studying and living in the United States, the American education system, and guidance on preparing for university applications.
OHESDC extends its congratulations to the Thai student teams for their outstanding achievements and for bringing recognition to Thailand at this prestigious international event.
